Since 1906 Our Home Universalist Unitarian Church has stood for a free faith for the residents of the Mississippi Pine Belt.
Founded by Mr. & Mrs. O. S Herrington,
who were so excited over their discovery of Universalism that they
vowed to have a church in this area even if they had to hold services in "our home", the church quickly grew and built its own facilities.
Through social controversies and fluctuating church membership,
Our Home has remained one of Mississippi's strongest
supporters of progressive, liberal religion.
The inherent worth and dignity of every person
Justice, equity and compassion in human relations
Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations
A free and responsible search for truth and meaning
The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large
The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all
Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part
